Scientific Games changes its name to Light & Wonder

Amid Q42021 results, Scientific Games decided to change its name, or lets call it the right way – rebrand to ‘Light & Wonder.’ This is one of the many iGaming companies that has decided to undergo such a transition. And it should not surprise you – this is just a reflection of what’s going on in the gaming and entertainment industry. From now on, you will come across the name ‘Light & Wonder’ – and it will be the symbol of the company’s more significant repositioning in the digital world.

Why are they taking such a move?

The company is going to change in many ways. Scientific Games is reorganizing its entire set of operations, starting with selling its lottery and sports betting businesses. The next move is to change its NASDAQ stock ticker to LNW to represent its name change – ‘Light & Wonder.’

At the same time, their president and CEO, Barry Cottle, is very welcoming of the ‘new beginnings’. According to him, this rebranding is an evocation of the emotions and feelings of the company’s direction. What would this mean for the players? Enjoyment, encouragement, imagination and lots of fun. They’re grateful to focus on providing those experiences for their players as they move into the next stage.

New heights in the Quarter

Scientific Games had an excellent fourth quarter with a 21% rise in overall revenue. That amassed to $62 million in net profits, which beats its results from 2020 when they suffered a massive loss due to the overall uncertainty in the world.

The rebranding will undoubtedly include more digital transformation, and additional information about the company’s new corporate identity is still forthcoming.
