Entain to Operate New Zealand’s TAB

Entain, a betting and gambling company operating worldwide and owner of bwin, is set to take ownership of New Zealand’s TAB by signing an agreement that will secure hundreds of millions of dollars for horse racing and sport. The agreement has been approved by Kieran McAnulty, the Minister for Racing, who has validated the agreement. This will enable Entain to manage New Zealand’s only betting agency for a period of 25 years. McAnulty has expressed his confidence that this deal will result in increased financial distributions to national sports organizations and provide certainty over the coming years, thus securing a solid future for the racing industry and sports in New Zealand.

One of the key guarantees the agreement had to offer before McAnulty could validate it was that no new jobs would be lost in New Zealand, ensuring that all 460 full-time TAB workers will retain their jobs for at least two more years. The agreement also honors TAB’s innovative Punters Promise, which ensures that fans have a chance to support any horse and win a minimum of $2000, a provision that will definitely be kept. This move will cater to New Zealand racing fans and enable them to fully embrace the world-leading guarantee that will allow them to place bets without fear of being banned from doing so.
